Do you really think they’d bicker for something less than is spoken of below (in the article)? This was first used as a cover June 20th, 2011, New Statesman Edition on the Sunni and Shia… image from http://www.crethiplethi.com.jpg

Shia does not fight Sunni
for just their ideology,
it fights to gain a foothold…
it seeks to achieve supremacy,
to consider this is to look
at Ireland… resentment alone
for English interference as
seen to cut one to the bone,
both are still Christian here…
and for Muslims just the same
but there is to see Sharia Law
raised, to establish more a name,
against: Kurds, Sunnis, Wahabbis…
the infidels and Jews, so true,
there will be no enemy of my
enemy… settled when it’s through,
this could be their wedge issue and
for us it’s political… left and right
but in a theocracy, as it is in Iran,
there is no separation seen by sight;
hence and therein lies the problem,
an end to any rational means of comfort,
the end draws nigh… the encumbrance
complete, a theocracy for our consort.

An abstract from Wikipedia… on Shariah Law, below.

For example, sharīʿat Mūsā means law or religion of Moses and sharīʿatu-nā can mean “our religion” in reference to any monotheistic faith.

I believe this to be in error. To be the religion of Moses… at face value… implies the Hebrew God and Allah are one and the same, doesn’t it? This is not the case or extremists would not be attempting to annihilate their Brothers, or drive them all (the nation of Israel and her people) into the sea. Furthermore, when Divine Law was implemented in Israel… it was fully understood to be applicable to God’s people, see below.

This was the form of Divine law which, under the dominion of God, as the Supreme Magistrate, directed the policy of the Jewish nation, and hence, was binding only on them, not on other peoples. This comes from this link here.

A closer look at ‘Sharia’ reveals, listed under Etymology, this in abstract, seen below.

This range of meanings is cognate with the Hebrew saraʿ and is likely to be the origin of the meaning “way” or “path”.

For a Christian, Jesus is ‘the way’, as is told in scripture, found in verses throughout the Bible. From Genesis 24:27, Genesis 35:19, and Genesis 48:7… back in the time of the beginning of Jewish records and creation itself. We see it in Exodus… in Exodus 13:17, when God was dealing with the Nation of Israel… the deliverance from Egypt and slavery under Pharaoh. To Numbers, wherein we find Balaam spoken of in Numbers 22:31… among many places but Balaam is remembered for Balaam’s error. In Job… in Job 28:23 also is the way- this time it is the way of a man’s heart, and even what comes from the heart.

Found in abstraction, coming from Commentary by Matthew Henry, the words below…

The opposition to Balaam by the way. [Numbers 22]

God gave Balaam up to his own heart’s lusts. As God sometimes denies the prayers of his people in love, so sometimes he grants the desires of the wicked in wrath. Balaam was no stranger to Israel’s cause; so that he ought to have answered the messengers at once, that he would never curse a people whom God had blessed; but he takes a night’s time to consider what he should do. When we parley with temptations, we are in great danger of being overcome. Balaam was not faithful in returning God’s answer to the messengers. Those are a fair mark for Satan’s temptation, who lessen Divine restraints; as if to go against God’s law were only to go without his leave. The messengers also are not faithful in returning Balaam’s answer to Balak. Thus many are abused by the flatteries of those about them, and are prevented from seeing their own faults and follies.

Proverbs 15:24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

Jeremiah 26:3 If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.

Mark 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Luke 7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

The way is best viewed when Jesus spoke, in John 14…

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This is God, the great “I Am”, and to the understanding of the Tetragrammaton… the monotheistic God of Israel. Here is a little more on Monotheism… to share for your own benefit. God’s will is for mankind to choose Him and not force His will on you. Did you know this? Each of us have a choice to believe in Him and Him alone as God. Still think they are one and the same… that God does not want to be known? I hope not!
