Can’t you hear the voice that calls you,

still and small though it may be…

can’t you hear the voice that calls you

reaching out from eternity?

There is a voice that calls to everyone,

the voice of one who spans all time,

this is the very voice of God Most High

and He calls to man of things divine.

Can’t you hear the voice that calls you,

still and small though it may be…

can’t you hear the voice that calls you

reaching out from eternity?

There is within the heart a hollow found,

and the voice echos there most to feel…

the voice offers all mankind a choice

to know and feel God’s love is real.

Can’t you hear the voice that calls you,

still and small though it may be…

can’t you hear the voice that calls you

reaching out from eternity?

2 Timothy 1:9 KJV

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

[What is seen below is from Commentary Critical and Explanatory on this page… based on 2 Tim 1:9]

The spirit which He gave us, was not the spirit of timidity (literally, “cowardice,” which is weakness), but of “power” (exhibited in a fearless “testimony” for Christ, 2 Timothy 1:8 ). “Power is the invariable accompaniment of the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 24:49 , Acts 1:8 ; compare Acts 6:6 , “full of faith and of the Holy Ghost,” with 2 Timothy 1:8 , “full of faith and power.” Fear is the result of “the spirit of bondage” ( Romans 8:15 ). Fear within exaggerates the causes of fear without. “The spirit of power” is the spirit of man dwelt in by the Spirit of God imparting power; this power “casteth out fear” from ourselves, and stimulates us to try to cast it out of others ( 1 John 4:18 ).
love–which moves the believer while “speaking the truth” with power, when giving his testimony for Christ ( 2 Timothy 1:8 ), at the same time to do so “in love” ( Ephesians 4:15 ).
