There is a special moment coming…

an event horizon to behold

and there will be troubles to

follow beyond it… to be so bold,

I’ll tell you now so you can’t

say,”I never knew,” or,”Heard I not,”

there comes a time in human history

akin to a net… be not so caught

off guard or unaware of its coming…

foretold in ancient days to come,

call this the tribulation- the great

tribulation, there is not a dome

large enough to protect us or to

hide in or under that it’ll save,

all those that live and breath will

be affected or sin not and behave;

therein is humanities problem… not

being willing to change or to worry,

and when people suddenly disappear

is when they’ll notice God’s sure fury.

What just happened? Where did those

people go? They’ve simply disappeared,

and there will be left (after this) a false

sense of security, not what is feared

or thought to be dread… this the time

of upheaval to: thoughts, notions, actions

and views, even to the growing awareness

of apprehension, to sense the reactions

of forced change come upon humanity…

one called out for, a backlash of response,

to make willing to influence (last chance)

or given away to our sins… to dispose.

If there is any truth to the word of God, and I believe the word of God to be truthful, to the point of knowing Jesus tells us,”He is truth.” If He is truth¹… He can only represent truth as: He has known it, would have us to understand it, and as it was it shall surely be… the same yesterday, today and tomorrow- spiritual and eternal. This truth then is the truth of God as God Himself would tell us… and show us personally.

Revelation 4… there is much to be offered us in this scripture, and the symbolism is used as ‘clear eyed signs’ to what will be… what will come to pass.

Be ‘clear eyed’ and ready for all that will come to pass… in the twinkling of an eye!

Revelation 4:1 (KJV) After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

After this… after these things… at this point, (Μετὰ ταῦτα): all these point to more than simply points of time. There is a telling of what should be understood: before this point, during this time, and what will come after it… for as surely as time is constant in eternal things so must they be understood the same way here- in the life we’ve been given. There also happens to be many parallels with: OT (Old Testament) and NT (New Testament), the telling of a parable (a story) and reality, faith (trust and confidence… much more than a spiritual apprehension) and hope (an eternal hope with an everlasting quality).

Verses 9-11 All true believers wholly ascribe their redemption and conversion, their present privileges and future hopes, to the eternal and most holy God. Thus raise the for-ever harmonious, thankful songs of the redeemed in heaven. Would we on earth do like them, let our praises be constant, not interrupted; united, not divided; thankful, not cold and formal; humble, not self-confident.

Come up hither–through the “open door.”

What is this door and who is doing the calling?

The strongest argument for a pre-tribulation Rapture is the fact that throughout the New Testament exhortation is given to look for and wait for the Coming of Jesus (Matthew 24:42-43; Matthew 25:13; Mark 13:35; 1 Thessalonians 5:6; Titus 2:13; 1 John 3:3; Hebrews 9:28; John 14:3). Jesus promised, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am there ye may be also” (Jn. 14:3). Here Jesus’ Coming is for the purpose of receiving the Church unto Himself and taking her to a place in the Father’s house; this Coming cannot be the same as His coming with the Church to earth as the post-tribulationists contend. The blessed hope of an imminent Coming of Jesus is one of the strongest incentives to practical godliness and diligent service (Titus 2:12-14; 1 John 3:3).

Then again… after this, as it is now after ‘the Bride‘ has been rescued (according to Rev 19), the time before the great tribulation. God fulfilling that which He said He would… found during the last supper- See above in ‘red letters’. There is also a distinct difference between the marriage supper of the Lord and the supper of the Lord, one of favor and the other of displeasure- to those disobedient to the will of God.

[Below a list of attributes, from Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the whole Bible, found here under #58]

beloved–Sound doctrine kindles Christian love.
steadfast–not turning aside from the faith of the resurrection of yourselves.
unmovable–not turned aside by others (1 Corinthians 15:12, Colossians 1:23).
the work of the Lord–the promotion of Christ’s kingdom (Philippians 2:30).
not in vain–as the deniers of the resurrection would make it (1 Corinthians 15:141 Corinthians 15:17).
in the Lord–applying to the whole sentence and its several clauses: Ye, as being in the Lord by faith, know that your labor in the Lord (that is, labor according to His will) is not to be without its reward in the Lord (through His merits and according to His gracious appointment).

Revelation 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

The next few verses in Rev 19 tell of Jesus getting ready to make war, the great second coming, distinctly different from ‘the rapture’ in His coming quietly for His bride (the church). Furthermore, it is called ‘the first resurrection,’ as spoken of in Revelation 20, found in verse 5 (Rev 20:5).

PLEASE NOTE: A pre-tribulation rapture view states Christians go to heaven seven years BEFORE Jesus’ visible return so that they are protected during the great tribulation. A mid-tribulation view believes Christians go to heaven HALF WAY through the great tribulation (i.e. 3 1/2 years in). A post-tribulation Eschatology view maintains the translation of the saints occurs AFTER the great tribulation when the Second Coming occurs.

Destiny. In a string of references “call” and “calling” connote the ultimate destiny of believers. The moment at which they were called points ahead to the final goal to which they are called by God (1 Cor 1:9; Eph 4:4; Php 3:14; 1 Thess 5:24; 1 Tim 6:12; Heb 3:1; 1 Peter 5:10).

Holy, holy, holy–The “tris-hagion” of the Greek liturgies. In Isaiah 6:3, as here, it occurs; also Psalms 99:3Psalms 99:5Psalms 99:9, where He is praised as “holy,” (1) on account of His majesty ( Revelation 4:1 ) about to display itself; (2) His justice ( Revelation 4:4 ) already displaying itself; (3) His mercy ( Revelation 4:6-8 ) which displayed itself in times past.

It is found in Revelation 15, with certainty, the coming of the wrath of God… upon the Earth- such as has never been seen before. It is thought to be due to this being spoken of, not being allowed to go into the temple, as being during the time of the great tribulation itself- a period of seven years.

those that escape of them–the Gentile survivors spared by God Zechariah 14:16 ). Isaiah 2:2 Isaiah 2:3 , Micah 5:7 ; and Zechariah 14:16-19 represent it, not that the Jews go as missionaries to the Gentiles, but that the Gentiles come up to Jerusalem to learn the Lord’s ways there.

There is a vast difference in treating the word of God as what it is… the ‘Word’ of God and something man has invented. Here is a great article to elaborate on this (on preaching with authority, by AlbertMohler.com)- found here. It is time to understand the difference between the two!

[Below comes from Commentary by John Lightfoot… on John 14.]

1)… Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

It may be answered that this was perhaps by a Hebrew idiosyncrasy; by which the way, the truth, and the life, may be the same with the true and living way. Our Savior seems to refute that opinion of the Jews concerning their law, as if it were the way, the truth, and the life, and indeed every thing: and to assert his own authority and power of introducing a new rule of religion, because himself is the way, the truth, and the life, in a sense much more proper and more sublime than the law could be said to be.

Here are a couple of other articles I’ve written on ‘the Rapture,’ and on what surely will come to pass after the event- you can see them below.

On ‘the rapture,” Jesus as ‘the door… the narrow gate,’ and a three part series (on this coming time in human history) including a view on the rapture (Part I), the curses of God (Part II) and what we can expect (Part III), and, lastly, two pieces… one on time and the last trumpet (or the length of time it takes for an eye to twinkle… in the twinkling of an eye) and one on the knowledge of God and God’s knowledge of you!

[Finally, from Matthew Henry Commentary on John 2, below… is found here– important enough to include in this body of work]

Our Lord knew all men, their nature, dispositions, affections, designs, so as we do not know any man, not even ourselves. He knows who are truly his, knows their uprightness, and knows their weaknesses. We know what is done by men; Christ knows what is in them, he tries the heart.
