The narrow gate is come to mankind,
all of us, by way of God’s nailed hands,
who is this God that would die for me…
none but ‘The great Shepherd’ stands
for the truth, of God’s proof of His love
is this, eternal hope manifest and come,
the ‘Word’ made flesh, to die as man for
man… rising from this death not for some
but for all that would believe in Him, to
declare Him as our God is to find the same
will be declared of us by God Himself, to
find Jesus declare to the Father our name.
Did you know God knows your name? You are known by God (personally)… the Creator God, the God of the known and unknown universe we do not yet know… and He calls us His that know Him. Do you know Him? Have you acknowledged what Jesus did for you, before you knew Him at all; because He died for us both- you and I.
2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
If God would punish His own chosen people (Israel) for their disobedience… will He not punish all others- even those thinking they have it right?
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
Here we find out all those that would believe in Jesus were given Jesus by the Father… chosen by Him from before.
John 17:6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
1 O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
The broad and narrow way
There are but two ways right and wrong, good and evil; the way to heaven and the way to hell; in the one or other of these all are walking: there is no middle place hereafter, no middle way now. All the children of men are saints or sinners, godly or ungodly. And yet this way should invite us all; it leads to life: to present comfort in the favor of God, which is the life of the soul; to eternal bliss, the hope of which at the end of our way, should make all the difficulties of the road easy to us. This plain declaration of Christ has been disregarded by many who have taken pains to explain it away; but in all ages the real disciple of Christ has been looked on as a singular, unfashionable character; and all that have sided with the greater number, have gone on in the broad road to destruction. If we would serve God, we must be firm in our religion. Can we often hear of the strait gate and the narrow way, and how few there are that find it, without being in pain for ourselves, or considering whether we are entered on the narrow way, and what progress we are making in it?

That the apostle alludes to these very words in 2 Timothy 2:19 there can hardly be any doubt–“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
It is necessary to our happiness that we believe in Christ, that we repent of sin, that we live a holy life, that we love one another. This is his will, even our sanctification. Let us take heed of resting in outward privileges and doings, lest we deceive ourselves, and perish eternally, as multitudes do, with a lie in our right hand. Let every one that names the name of Christ, depart from all sin. There are others, whose religion rests in bare hearing, and it goes no further; their heads are filled with empty notions.

I am the door of the sheep, I am the good shepherd and know my sheep, am known of mine… other sheep I have . . . not of this fold: them also I must bring, I and my Father are one.

2 Corinthians 4:15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
John 17:20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
John 6:37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
Christ’s doctrine is the word of eternal life, therefore we must live and die by it. If we forsake Christ, we forsake our own mercies. They believed that this Jesus was the Messiah promised to their fathers, the Son of the living God. And let us ever remember our Lord’s searching question; Shall we go away and forsake our Redeemer? To whom can we go? He alone can give salvation by the forgiveness of sins. And this alone brings confidence, comfort, and joy, and bids fear and despondency flee away. It gains the only solid happiness in this world, and opens a way to the happiness of the next.
