With the current fascination with the Pope… being in the US
and in a spirited showing of openness to all,
hear the call of a man who would alter the very definition of
a church, claiming to be universal by call…
yet declaring,”All religions are true, because they are true in
the hearts of all those who believe in them.”
I’m getting teary eyed here, this speech so accepting of any
other, even a devout pluralism… happy poem
but did he really say this or not, the statement being attributed
to the third Vatican council, this is not the case…
there has been a synod but not a formal calling to be held as
the Council of Nicaea, theology is not a race¹…
theology of ‘Redemption’ is different between the religions, even
more between the Abrahamic beliefs we know,
there is no commonality here… thought to be the same thing but
it is not here to find, look and it will not show
the same understanding… same convictions to share or be seen,
hence the need for injunctions by misuse,
the legality and ineffectiveness of thinking, even coming from the
purview of the Saudi Gazette, or its use,
to cover Pope Francis amiably but when a top Islamic cleric calls for
the release of innocents abducted, recently,
is not to see any comparisons with the Americans in Iranian prison…
innocent of the charge(s) levied, signs of clemency
here would be signs of reaching for a display of ‘interfaith trust’ to
be reached for and met… in a positive light,
the growth of all involved, from: Iraq, Iran, the Vatican, Christians
around the world caught in persecution’s plight,
if pluralism was indeed the goal… then peace should be attainable,
not as tenuous as actions or even heard
when it comes to the obvious disparity of treatment ‘beyond the pail’
of what UN declares to us with faith by word…
the UDHR (Universal Declaration of Human Rights²) does spell out
we should be able to believe what we will, free,
but pluralism is ‘the action of forcing one to believe equality is God,’
and not ‘God is accessible to all,’ equality to me.

Our world is increasingly a place of violent conflict, hatred and brutal atrocities, committed even in the name of God and of religion. We know that no religion is immune from forms of individual delusion or ideological extremism. This means that we must be especially attentive to every type of fundamentalism, whether religious or of any other kind.

Although Christians today are numerically a minority, theirs is a significant and valued presence in the fields of education and health care, thanks to their schools and hospitals. They are able to profess their faith peaceably, in a climate of respect for religious freedom. Religious freedom is in fact a fundamental human right and I cannot fail to express my hope that it will be upheld throughout the Middle East and the entire world. The right to religious freedom “includes on the individual and collective levels the freedom to follow one’s conscience in religious matters and, at the same time, freedom of worship… [it also includes] the freedom to choose the religion which one judges to be true and to manifest one’s beliefs in public” (Ecclesia in Medio Oriente, 26).
To complicate these ‘religious issues’ is our complicit political actions, here and abroad, that do: aid the enemy, gain support against us [The US] and would allow our educational system to: endorse, promote and encourage Islamic teaching in our schools.
According to information from Tony Blair’s Faith Foundation [initially helped to start by UN aid], extremists from all religions are the problem… not the view of global supremacy.
According to the Pew Research Center…
1)… except to understand there will come ‘the end of days,’ when man’s time will (literally) come to an end. The eschatology of two of the Abrahamic monotheistic religions are in agreement… one is different than the other two. One leads to global supremacy under man’s hand… and is the goal of its followers.
The abstract below is an excerpt taken from this article… that we might fully understand the times we are living in- the days swiftly approaching!
[The Bible: The Antichrist is an unparalleled political, military and religious leader that will emerge in the last days.
Islam: The Mahdi is an unparalleled political, military and religious leader that will emerge in the last days.
The Bible: The False Prophet is a secondary prominent figure that will emerge in the last days who will support the Antichrist.
Islam: The Muslim Jesus is a secondary prominent figure that will emerge in the last days to support the Mahdi.]
2)… Please note Iran did sign the UDHR, and since it is a theocracy… a primary representative of what it is to be and understand Islam from, either contractual agreements should be honored or we are left to be the fools they think we are.
