Whence lingers deep sorrow and heartache…
born of pain consumed and flesh to feel,
grief speaks louder than fortune found betwixt
rising and setting sun or night too real,
sensations perchance to falter growth or lead
to troubles to fill a sea of doubt by worry,
flooded dreams to flounder be, calamity is the
rip tide which follows and drowns its fury,
scorn of waves to well within and overtake
a life of weary worn existence, to die…
unheeding clear signs of dire dread, depths
beyond outrageousness, take arms to really try.
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

judgment and the love of God–in Matthew 23:25 , “judgment, mercy, and faith.” The reference is to Micah 6:6-8 , whose third element of all acceptable religion, “walking humbly with God,” comprehends both “love” and “faith.” The same tendency to merge greater duties in less besets us still, but it is the characteristic of hypocrites.
Micah 6:8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
