“Lift your head Son”©

(Written by Russell D. Holder)

Having shed a better tear than first…

than shed in his grief first found,

so much bitterness is the loss of salt

and sentiment just lying on the ground,

what impelled them first to fall is

reaction to deeds misunderstood…

and time softens all hearts involved

as only time can do and should,

to moisture’s loss a softness stands

and wills us our path to follow…

so senseless we will plead to all

who hear,”Why make another grovel?”

Who attends the sleeves of heart as

they’d get tossed off in the street…

to then be found by badger or hound

in baited snare, unabashedly replete?

Henceforth… there exists no time to

bother with discouragement’s folly born,

lift your head Son and be seen… but

not so high to look at others with scorn,

let our thoughts trail new found joy…

Joy can be known, these the thoughts of peace,

and so a better tear is shed than fallen

at first… the chains of doubt do release.

Philippians 4:4-7 (King James Version)

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
