HOPE… some people have no concept of what real hope is. Hope the kids don’t screw up in school today or the trash man picks up the garbage. These are the common hopes most of us have and are subject to each and every day, and all of us have them [these silly concerns]. I say hope, real HOPE, goes far beyond this existence; whereby hope is more than a likely-hood, a maybe… and it is secured by plain old belief and faith. I’m sure there are skeptics to this reasoning but I’m going to attempt to allay the doubts… even the fears, to suspend them or remove them from the thought process you might be using- to offer you hope in God ETERNALLY.

By all mankind’s definitions and many phrases used, like: hope against hope, hope for the best, in hopes of, in hopes that or not a hope… all these offer but a chance to a favorable outcome. If this is what man calls hope… it sure is different than what God calls hope, for the hope God gives us is life eternal. When Jesus was placed on the cross and died for all our sins, the transgression man was born into… the sin nature from after man’s fall from grace, God the Father… by His own Son, gives man HOPE to live beyond this life- and it comes from belief in Jesus Himself. There is no other God in human history that has come down to Earth and sacrificed Himself so that all mankind would come to know Him as their personal Savior… and this gives me HOPE.

As always, I would request that you pray first… prior to reading the scripture provided, that you might be granted a deeper understanding of God’s word and find the truth of God within your heart when it is over.

Scriptures:

Romans 5:4 KJV And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

Lamentations 3:26 KJV It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Joel 3:16 KJV The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

Psalm 16:9 KJV Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Acts 2:26 KJV Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Romans 5:2 KJV By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand , and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Ephesians 1:18 KJV The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Colossians 1:27 KJV To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

1 Thessalonians 1:3 KJV Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Does this not speak of hope in things eternal… things beyond the narrow definitions of man himself and humanity as a whole?

Titus 1:2 KJV

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

1 Thessalonians 1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience  of  hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. 9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Our eternal hope is caused from the resurrection of Jesus, from death to life again. It is from this single event eternal hope is seen and gives rise to our faith. Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ… the gospel falls flat on it’s face.

This is HOPE… a hope in things eternal… for truly this is the greatest Passover gift humanity will ever know, a hope that has come to be believed and understood as real as the historical records and eyewitnesses give us account- God lives and is real. This is whereby true hope lives in our hearts and may you come to know love personally… His name is Jesus Christ, our Savior. Be blest this and every season, (D.V.)

Your Brother in Christ Jesus,

Russ
