betrayal of man comes close to the end... as in the time and life of Jesus, do not listen to judas-goats [those who would have you turn your back on the faith of Jesus], faith, The need for the faithful in Christ Jesus is to shore up your belief
I’ve written on the subject of faith before and I might use some of the same lessons [in parts] to strengthen the viewpoint I’m expressing here… the importance of our faith [the christian faith] to be stronger than ever. If it is faith in what we believe… it should be clearly evident to all we come in contact with. If we are to understand life and the love of life comes from and through God, it is clear there is an importance to life itself. The christian faith is one that values life… and it is found by the loving example God Himself, Jesus Christ [our Lord and Savior suffered for all mankind on the cross], as a servant to humanity. The actions of Jesus declare this true; therefore, our faith is and should be one: showing, proclaiming and being an example of the love He has for all men and women and the life we live to give honor to God.
Faith is in essence beyond belief, it means to have more than a strong belief in the knowledge you possess- a very real reliance in what you believe. It is to have “complete trust and confidence in God,” what God says and all this with the knowledge of God’s capacity to do anything He wills to. The world might say we have ‘a blind faith’ but I do not agree with this view for christianity at all. There have been many times [throughout the Old Testament to the New Testament] God has made Himself visibly manifest to man. The word theophany means… a visible manifestation to humankind of God [in whichever form God chooses], let me explain.
When Moses was confronted by ‘The Angel of the Lord.” with the burning bush, was this an angel? One of the many meanings of the word ‘angel’ is… messenger of God or was this God Himself? Was Jesus sending us a message from God the Father when He was here [during His life] and could be understood as the messenger of the Father… to understand He was an angel here also.To comprehend what I’m saying… let’s go to scripture, to see what the word of God says. Please look below…
Exodus 3:2 KJV And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
At first glance it would appear to be a reference to ‘an angel’ but I’m now sure it means even more than that. To get a better view of this, as the word of God would have all His own to understand [those then and now], we need to add more scripture to this to see what really happened here. Let’s look again…
Exodus 3:4 KJV And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
Please notice here, the LORD and God are used to and for the same meaning… the description of the same being and that being is God Himself.
Exodus 3:6 KJV Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
If it is God, and we know God to be in three parts of the whole [the Trinity of God the Father, Jesus the Son of God and the Holy Spirit] then which one is this giving rise to? Here again we must look to scripture for a clear statement of which embodiment of God this was. We find in 1 Timothy 6:16 [the highlighted portion] a reference to God the Father, Him who hath immortality… whom no man has seen.
1 Timothy 6:11-21 (King James Version)
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. [The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana.]
We can see it is not referring to God the Father, being seen in the bush by Moses, and Jesus says [about the Holy Spirit]…
John 14:26 KJV But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 16:7 KJV Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
We can clearly see the Comforter [The Holy Spirit, The Paraclete] was not here yet… not yet made manifest to mankind. This is where the christian faith understands it was God the Son, Jesus Christ Himself [God almighty], who was speaking to Moses directly from within the burning bush. This is the same God made manifest to us as Jesus Christ, the visible manifestation of God in the flesh. Does not the word of God tell us this has happened here…
John 1:14 KJV And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:1 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Psalm 54:4 KJV Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
Isaiah 64:8 KJV But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
This is what the christian faith is based on, the knowledge that Jesus was God in the flesh, the living Word of God, and the living sacrifice of God for the sins of man. This we should know, hold and cherish… never to break the faith [never to be unfaithful to or to let our God down] or to betray… leading others to false claims or false gods. It is with the fullness of my heart, my love for what the LORD has done for me [saved me from myself and false teaching(s)] on the cross of Calvary- willing to die that I might live with Him and for Him. I can only hope you [also] come to the same conclusion… as regards our faith, the christian faith, and what it truly means to desire to be closer to God Himself. (D.V.)
Your Brother in Christ Jesus,
